Research: Andrea’s master’s thesis explored whether or not risk factors for recidivism among adult male and female offenders would be the same – gender neutral, stronger for one gender than the other – gender salient, or only relevant for one gender but not the other – gender specific. Two equally sized male and female comparison groups were analyzed using logistic regression and odds analysis. The results demonstrated that gender salient or specific predictors of recidivism emerged only when the risk factors were broken down into specific individual factors (i.e., DFIA indicators) rather than the all-encompassing global factors, such as the total DFIA measure or the overarching domain areas.
