          Dr. Natalie Jones holds a Ph.D. (2011) and an M.A. (2005) in Psychology from Carleton University, both with a forensic specialization. In 2011, she was awarded the Canadian Psychological Association Certificate of Academic Excellence for Best Doctoral Dissertation. In recognition of her scholarship, Dr. Jones was appointed to the position of Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Psychology at Carleton University in 2017.

      In her current role as Senior Evaluator with the Correctional Service of Canada and previously, as Director of Research at Orbis Partners Inc., Dr. Jones has managed justice-related projects including the development and validation of risk assessment tools, program evaluations, and the provision of research services to clients across Canada and the United States. Her specific research interests lie in the development of strengths-based and gender-informed risk assessment and intervention strategies for justice-involved populations. Other areas of interest include the study of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) in catalyzing negative outcomes along the developmental trajectory, and the examination of gender differences in the profiles and treatment needs of domestic violence perpetrators. In addition to her work in correctional assessment and treatment, Dr. Jones has several peer-reviewed publications in investigative psychology spanning the areas of offender profiling, linkage analysis, indicators of suicide note authenticity, and diagnostic decision-making in policing contexts.
