Welcome to GEOD@C!

Welcome to GEOD@C’s main site, and thanks for finding us! Here you will find more information about the program, the team, this year’s main challenge, and a place to suggest future challenges. You can also register to participate in this year’s code nights. The 2022 GEOD@C code nights will be October 13 and 14, and November 3 and 4.

The Generating Earth Observation Datasets at Carleton (GEOD@C) program’s objective is to engage participants of all skill levels in creating useful geoscientific datasets while enhancing their data literacy. We do this through a set of four collaborative coding nights, where we will teach about geospatial data, provide some small-scale learning activities, and then present our annual challenge project, which is the development of a full-scale dataset.

Why register?

  • The event is free and open to all skill levels;
  • Learn to obtain, transform, analyze, and produce geoscientific data;
  • Share co-authorship in a new geoscientific dataset (a great resume item!);
  • Prizes and food!

For more information, see our Code of Conduct or the Event Rules.
