How To Apply
The application process for graduate studies at Carleton for all prospective students is the same and must be completed online. For complete information regarding the application process, please consult Apply Online | Graduate Admissions.
Required Documents
The following documents are required to apply to the HCI program:
A Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is not required.
After you have submitted your online application and your application fee has been processed, you will be instructed on how to upload your required documents in Carleton Central. The requirements for each document can be found on the Required Documents | Graduate Admissions webpage.
Admission Decisions
When the application is complete and we receive all the required documents, the status of your application on Carleton Central will turn to “Preliminary Review Required,” which indicates that your application is ready to be reviewed. The review process takes up to eight weeks starting after the application deadline. Once a decision is made, your status will be updated and you will be notified by email.

Due to the high volume of applications, only complete applications will be considered.
