Bob

Bob Sutherland won a Governor General’s Award in 1974 for standing first in his class at the University of Toronto. He subsequently attended Osgoode Hall Law School on a scholarship. The very first trial Bob took part in was a jury trial involving a brain injury suffered by a woman who had fallen down a flight of stairs. Since then Bob has handled hundreds of brain injury cases primarily on the defence side. He has defended brain injury claims arising from accidents involving vehicles such as skateboards, bicycles, snowmobiles, ATV’s, motorcycles, boats, automobiles and transport trucks. He has also handled files involving brain injuries (both real and imagined) arising from a vast array of sporting activities including hockey, soccer, skiing, ringette, baseball, discus, track, gymnastics, volleyball and water polo.

Bob has the greatest of sympathy for anyone who has suffered a traumatic brain injury (and no patience whatsoever for claimants and lawyers who allege such injuries in the absence of any scientific evidence to support the claim).
