We’re excited to announce that the Hyperlab and the ReMedia Lab at UBC’s Okanagan Campus will be hosting a Media Arts and Humanities Summer Intensive, in cooperation with Carleton’s Teaching and Learning Services, Carleton’s Cognitive Modelling Lab, The University of Waterloo’s U&AI Lab, Ingenium.ca, and the SAW Art Centre. This three-day, in-person event will be held at Carleton and partner cultural venues in Ottawa in July 2027, with support from a SSHRC Connection Grant.
Our Summer Intensive will feature several workshops organized around three thematic areas: (1) Technology, Performance, and Media Production; (2) AI, Large Language Models, and their Applications; and (3) Community Engaged Media Arts and Humanities, with additional featured talks and art installations.
