Imagination, Consciousness, and Superintelligent AI
Abstract: A good deal of recent press has been concerned with the possibility of malignant artificial intelligences becoming a threat to human existence. Many worry about a time when software will “wake up,” become conscious, and try, for instance, to take over the world. What is the relationship between the danger of AI and its level of consciousness?
