Title: Artificial Intelligence Outside of Academia and the Concept of Trust

Abstract

Over the past few years, there has been a tremendous interest in applications of artificial intelligence in a variety of industries. From healthcare, to financial services, and even government, the potential applications seem endless. However, when it comes to implementing an AI solution, a variety of skills are required beyond those of the data scientist. In this talk, I will provide some firsthand examples of real-world AI implementations. Furthermore, I will discuss the notion of trust and its integral role in the acceptance of an AI solution.

Nazim Hussain is a Senior Specialist at Omnia AI, Deloitte’s artificial intelligence practice. Here, he uses machine learning to help his clients work with their data in novel ways. A particle physicist by education, his prior affiliations include CERN, the University of Oxford, and Fermilab.
