Pragati Sahni is the current India Chair at Carleton University. Dr. Sahni is an Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy, University of Delhi. Her areas of interests include Environmental Philosophy, Ethics and Early Buddhism. She completed her PhD from University of London and has been a recipient of the Commonwealth Scholarship. Her books include Environmental Ethics in Buddhism: A Virtues Approach and Understanding Ethics (co-edited).

Background – India Chair

The India Chair at Carleton University is supported by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and provides an opportunity for leading Indian researchers to spend a term at Carleton University to teach courses and engage with Canadian academics through public talks. The India Chair at Carleton University is only one of four Chairs in Canada supported by the ICCR.
