
Sushil Handa

Sushil Handa graduated with a Bachelors (Aero.) degree from Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur, India) and with a Masters degree from Carleton University. He also studied at McGill University for an MBA.
He worked for 5 years for an aircraft manufacturer and for 14 years for a computer services company specializing in engineering applications. Since 1988 he has worked at his own consulting services company and has worked on a wide variety of projects in collaboration with many smaller companies and some large companies such as Bombardier, Hydro Quebec etc.
He has been a member of Amnesty International for last 35 years in support of their struggle for human rights throughout the world and has been actively involved for last 10 years as a coordinator for China file and also works on various other files. He is involved in an advisory role with Rishi Apang Uthan Sanstha, an NGO based in India which works to help women acquire new work skills and promote literacy in Dalit community. He has been and continues to be involved in local issues at the municipal level and serves as an active member of the environment committee in Saint-Lambert where he resides. In the past he was involved as a member and chairman of parent committees at his children’s schools. Presently he volunteers as a tutor with literacy council, as a sighted guide for blind persons involved in sports activity and is also involved in an advisory role with an alternative theatre company.’
