Valerie is a first-year graduate psychology student at Carleton University. She previously studied at McGill University in Montreal where she worked in a forensic research laboratory investigating children’s eyewitness testimonies. Her honour’s thesis looked at the influence of children’s socio-emotional characteristics on willingness to maintain a false witness statement.
She is current extremely interested in investigative interviewing. Specifically, her interests revolve around personal qualities and characteristics of an interviewer that could maximise the effectiveness of an investigative interview. For example, are there any traits that result in a greater information yield?
