Fisnik Preniqi
Fisnik Preniqi was born and raised in Kosovo before immigrating to Canada in 1996. With the arrival of a large group of Kosovar refugees in 1999, he began working as a settlement counsellor for the Immigrant Services Society of British Columbia, assisting newcomers in navigating the challenges of resettlement. He later pursued his education in accounting and has since built a career in public service. Since 2005, Fisnik has held various roles within the Government of British Columbia, and he currently serves as Assistant Deputy Minister with the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
Fisnik will discuss the experience faced by members of the Albanian Diaspora who were already in Canada in 1999, while their families in Kosovo endured significant danger and uncertainty.
