Major General (Retired) Mike Ward served 35 years in the Canadian Forces and commanded troops in Armoured units up to Regimental level. He commanded Joint Task Force Kosovo on Operation KINETIC from May to Dec 1999. From 2009-2010 he was the first Deputy Commander of the NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan. He has a BA(Hon) in Economics and Commerce from the Royal Military College of Canada, a MS (Admin) from Central Michigan University and is a World Fellow at Yale University. On retirement in 2011, Mike joined CAE Incorporated as the strategic lead for global land systems. In 2013 he joined IBM Global Business Services Canada. In 2015 he became Chief Operating Officer of the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services. He continues to champion Veterans issues through the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires and Veterans House Canada.
