Houman received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1996 and 1998, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, in 2015, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Queen’s University, Canada. He has held senior engineering and research positions in the aerospace and automotive sectors in Canada and internationally, including serving as Team Lead in data engineering at Life Prediction Technologies Inc. (LPTi), Ottawa, Canada. He is currently a faculty member at the University of Tennessee at Martin. His research interests and industrial collaborations include prognostics and health management, hybrid physics-based and machine-learning systems, digital twins, and intelligent decision-making for mechanical, energy, and transportation systems. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
