Dr. Altaf is a data science researcher and educator with over 20 years of experience spanning academia, industry, and applied research. His work bridges machine learning, dynamical systems, and inverse modeling, with applications in autonomous systems, environmental forecasting, and intelligent decision-support systems. He holds a PhD from Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, where he specialized in data assimilation and predictive modeling for complex dynamical systems. Dr. Altaf has contributed to international research projects at renowned institutions including UT Austin, USA, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, Danish Hydrological Institute, Denmark, and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia, developing advanced algorithms for real-time forecasting, process optimization, and large-scale data analytics. Currently serving as a Research Associate at Carleton University, Canada and Professor at Algonquin College, Canada, his work focuses on data analysis and data-driven control. His ongoing research integrates machine learning with physical and mathematical modeling to improve understanding and predictive performance in scientific and engineering systems.
