Why Did You Want to Become a Mentor?
As a former mentee, I experienced the immense value of having a mentor who guided me through the challenges of university life. Now, I am eager to give back and become a First Year Connections Mentor at Carleton University. My goal is to provide incoming first-year students with the same level of support and guidance that I received. Through this mentorship role, my main aim is to form meaningful friendships with new students and provide them with valuable support to help them adjust and get accustomed to university life. Additionally, being a mentor will enable me to develop essential skills such as communication, leadership, and problem-solving. This opportunity not only enriches my university experience but also empowers me to make a positive impact on others while continuing to grow personally and professionally.
