Nearly everything around climate change centers around accelerating innovative technologies for transitioning to renewable energy. However, little attention is paid to the conundrums associated with the supply chain, trade policies and governance of the raw materials for the ‘green shift’. Environmental destruction, insecurity, human rights violations, and governance breaches remain very common in the supply chain of the minerals for renewable energy.
