Bill Cross has spent the last few decades researching and teaching about Canada’s political parties. For the past 17 years, he has been a member of the Department of Political Science at Carleton University and prior to that taught at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. Over the years, Bill has been an active volunteer in both professional and community organizations and is a strong believer in the importance of non-governmental, nonprofit organizations in building robust, sustainable local communities.
Bill can often be found cheering both the Carleton Ravens and his beloved University of Houston Cougars sports teams. He’s very much looking forward to learning from the diverse set of students enrolled in the MPNL program.
In 2024, he spoke to PANL Perspectives about his research into governance and Canada’s national sports organizations: “How Have Canada’s Sports Organizations Gotten Away With So Much for So Long?”
