Robinson holds a master’s degree in Protected Areas Management from James Cook University, Australia, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from his home country of Cameroon. He has 17 years of frontline experience in the public and nonprofit sectors of environmental management. He’s gained valuable experience from designing, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating multiple environmental and livelihoods-improvement interventions for youth, women and disadvantaged groups in Africa, Australia and Canada.
Robinson moved to Canada in 2018 due to armed conflict in Cameroon, leaving behind a grassroots movement he helped establish in 2009; the Korup Rainforest Conservation Society had a mission to promote nature-based solutions to environmental and socio-economic challenges facing the Korup National Park region.
In Canada, Robinson has continued pursuing his dream. He volunteered for the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society and Nature Canada in the federal capital region, before joining the Nunavut Wildlife Management Board, where he currently provides technical input on wildlife management for the benefit of Indigenous communities in Nunavut.
He believes Canada has offered him a lot, and the MPNL will provide him the tools to pursue his dream career in nonprofit leadership and be able to give back to people in need here in Canada and the developing world.
