Michael Hiscoe has worked in the developmental services sector for more than 20 years. He joined the Ottawa-Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OCAPDD) in 2006, providing direct support to adults with developmental disabilities in residential, supported independent living, and day-program settings.
Michael completed a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Management in 2017 through Toronto Metropolitan University. He then moved into a supervisory position at OCAPDD in 2020, overseeing one of OCAPDD’s 19 residential programs and leading them through one of the first COVID-19 outbreaks in Ottawa.
After two and a half years as a Residential Supervisor, Michael was promoted to Director of Supports and Services at OCAPDD. As part of the senior management team, Michael is leading OCAPDD’s COVID-19 response and is helping guide the agency’s strategic direction to better enable its 550 employees to support more than 400 individuals.
Michael is excited and privileged to be part of the MPNL program and is looking forward to connecting with other current and future leaders from the nonprofit sector. As he participates in this program, he’s being supported by his wife, Jessica, and daughters Josephine and Elizabeth.
