Nelly Li is from Hong Kong. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Economics from the US. For 14 years, she worked in the private sector, through which she acquired solid knowledge in research management consulting, as well as corporate strategy and business planning.
As she felt a growing desire to apply her skill sets for social good, she decided to make a career change about a year ago to work at one of the world’s leading foundations. As a senior manager, she’s responsible for management of projects to help nonprofit organizations in Hong Kong in building sector-wide capacity. Because of her past commercial experiences, she also maintains a strategy and planning role that allows her to contribute to the foundation’s long-term development.
As someone who ‘s relatively new to the philanthropy industry, Nelly sometimes feels that she lacks the specific skills to excel in her role and drive system changes. She’s particularly drawn to the MPNL program because it covers a broad spectrum of topics about leading effective and sustainable nonprofit organizations.
She’s looking forward to learning many of the best practices from, and building connections with, fellow students and field practitioners through the program.
