William Peat is an executive with more than 12 years of experience working to connect the Irish Diaspora with Irish culture and history. He’s originally from Dublin, Ireland, and holds a Master’s degree in Anthropology from NUI Maynooth, specializing in Irish Diaspora Identity.
He’s worked as a researcher on John McColgan’s worldirish.com project;
co-founded NGen Ireland, a nonprofit that helps connect and celebrate younger Irish people; and consulted on Diaspora engagement with many organizations.
At Canada Ireland Foundation (CIF), he has helped facilitate the organization’s growth to include a rebranding, two capital projects with combined budgets of more than $18 million, and the development of the Foundation’s internal processes. During his time at CIF, the programming and community have continued to grow. He’s immensely proud that CIF is one of the largest Irish-focused organizations in Canada.
