The APS 2021 Virtual Convention was held online this year on May 26-27.
Dr. Janet Mantler presented a flash talk based on her research on working during COVID-19. This is a seven-wave study of work and mental health-related outcomes using data collected between April 2020 and November 2020. Over this early period in the COVID-19 pandemic, a sample of working Americans reported initial high mental health concerns and financial insecurity that levelled off after three months and for those working from home, rather than in the community, work provided a sense of normalcy and control.
Chelsie Smith presented research conducted with Angela Dionisi and Kate Dupré examining the impact of COVID-19 on sole and partnered working mothers.
Amanda McEvoy presented research conducted with Kate Dupré and Shawn Kenny from Carleton’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department examining individual perceptions and climate change initiatives.
