What: a drop-in to talk about the results of the BIPOC member survey circulated last year by CUASA’s anti-racist working group. Also up for discussion: potential next steps for CUASA to address systemic racism on campus; and, BIPOC faculty experiences with CUASA.

When: Thursday, March 10 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Eastern via Zoom

CUASA invitation: “Calling all folks with lived experiences of discrimination based on race, culture, ancestry, Indigeneity, or ethnicity. This one-hour drop-in will create a welcoming space for you to discuss your experiences of discrimination and your relationship to CUASA as well as what you wish CUASA could do or do better for you. [The drop-in] will be closed, meaning that the group discussion and attendance will remain private and at a high-level only, with actionable items brought to the CUASA leadership.”

There will be a third-party facilitator present to offer support to faculty, given the potentially triggering conversations on hand.

RIFA’s role: RIFA members are invited to attend and share their experiences as we work together to highlight the ways in which CUASA can better serve its racialized, Black and Indigenous members on campus. We want to thank our steering committee member, Malini Guha, who is a member of the CUASA anti-racist working group and also spearheading these initiatives.
