Betina Appel Kuzmarov
Co-Chair, Strategic Integrated Planning Task Force; Clerk of Senate
Dr. Betina Appel Kuzmarov has served as the Clerk of Senate since July 1, 2018.
She previously served as the Associate Dean, Student Success (later renamed Associate Dean, Students and Enrolment) in the Faculty of Public Affairs for four years where she held responsibilities for student affairs, including student recruitment, orientation and retention.
Dr. Appel Kuzmarov is an Assistant Professor in Carleton’s Department of Law and Legal Studies and is a recipient of the Faculty of Public Affairs Teaching Excellence Award.
She holds law degrees from York University’s Osgoode Hill Law School and McGill University, and a PhD from the University of Hull.
Her research focuses on international law, cultural property law and law and religion.
