Here at Stigma Ends, what we find most valuable is connection. Whether at school or in our communities, we are consistently striving to connect to those with a personal addiction experience, a loved one’s addiction experience or allies of addiction and recovery. We believe reaching goals is a two-way street; the ability to support others will always create the capacity to support ourselves.

Series

What’s New Wednesdays

Available on our Instagram page, the What’s New Wednesdays series hosts a member of Carleton’s academic community to discuss their research in addictions. Whether it be in treatment, diagnosis or understanding, we host a conversation about what the researcher has discovered about their topic and where this discovery is leading them.

Team Talks

Available on our Instagram page, Team Talks is a non-scripted conversation with members of our team about all things stigma. This space is intended to expand and facilitate important dialogue within the context of understanding how we all play a part in harm reduction and recovery, no matter where we are on the spectrum of an addiction journey or recovery ally.

Community

Chat Or Chill

Beginning in February 2020, our organization was able to host a community-based, peer-to-peer meeting space for members of the Carleton community to either chat about how addiction has affected their life personally or through a loved one, or have a space to chill; no discussion necessary. We continued to host Chat or Chill virtually following the COVID-19 lockdown, and we intend to remain virtual until provincial and university guidelines permit otherwise.
