Souban Youssouf is completing a B.A. Honours degree in Law, with a Concentration in Law, Policy and Government as well as a Minor in Neuroscience and Mental Health. As a Communications Team Leader at Stigma Ends at CU, Souban is passionate about eradicating the stigma associated with substance use and mental health. She has previously worked in the community where she witnessed how stigmatization, as well as the lack of awareness and understanding of substance use, have functioned as barriers to health equity. This has inspired her to further dedicate her efforts to empowering people by promoting safe and inclusive spaces at Stigma Ends at CU. In her future endeavors, Souban hopes to use her academic and professional experience to effect meaningful legislative changes to the approach to address mental health care in Canada.
