Claudia Mitchell, PhD, FRSC is a James McGill Professor, McGill University, Montreal, the founding director of the Institute for Human Development and Well-being, and the director of the Participatory Cultures Lab. Her research cuts across participatory visual methodologies in global contexts in relation to youth, gender, sexuality and HIV and AIDS, girls’ education, and teacher identity She has authored and co-edited numerous articles and books including Doing Visual Research. Her most recent book is an edited collection Girlhood and the Politics of Place (Mitchell & Rentschler). She is the editor-in-chief of Girlhood Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal.
