Tammy is a PhD candidate in Critical Disability Studies at York University. Emphasizing intersectionality, her work focuses on violence and socio-economic oppression of women with disabilities. She is also interested in the effects of societal and self perceptions of disability and methods of advancing rights for women and girls with disabilities.
As a research assistant with the TDKRA project, Tammy recognizes the importance of narrative and participatory visual methodologies in sharing the experiences and insights of women and girls with disabilities in Vietnam.
