Behzad’s work focuses on the aeroacoustic design and optimization of wing leading and trailing edges for noise and drag reduction. His research involves both experimental testing (wind tunnel) and computational predictions (using CFD methods). Behzad’s Ph.D. research aims to investigate and simultaneously reduce drag and the aerodynamic noise source known as airfoil self-noise, by using passive flow control techniques. The research is relevant for applications in aircraft wings, wind turbine blades, and industrial cooling fans, to name a few.
