Nick’s research investigates the generation of noise in wind tunnels and their optimization. His work involves the characterization of a wind tunnel through measurements of sound and aerodynamic properties, and comparison with CFD predictions. The final objective is, through the informed use of the predictions and measurements, to modify or improve facility components in order to create a quiet wind tunnel useful for testing and assessing materials’ self-noise.
