Since its arrival at Carleton University in 1998, the Bridgman Furnace has been enhancing the study and research of aerospace materials, allowing researchers to create techniques that improve the performance of engine elements at high temperatures and altitudes such as gas turbine engine blades.
As airplanes and engines become increasingly powerful, testing facilities such as Carleton’s Aerospace Materials Labs are making integral contributions to this field of research and to industry at large.
