Biography
Dr. Marcias Martinez works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at Clarkson University, in the USA. In addition, Dr. Martinez holds a position as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the Technical University of Delft, in the Netherlands.
The focus of Dr. Martinez research is the analysis and application of Smart Material Structures in the field of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). His Ph.D. research was focused on the development of a Finite Element Analysis solver for the application of piezoelectric material systems. His Masters in Mechanical Engineering was in the area of numerical analysis of Solidification Models of Dendrite Growth. Dr. Martinez has extensive industrial experience in the design of cooling solutions for telecommunication chassis. As an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University, Canada, he currently works and supervises students on development and evaluation of Lamb Wave and Load Monitoring Systems for SHM of aerospace structures.
