Bio
“I am from Bracebridge, Ontario, but have lived in Ottawa for the past 11 years. Currently, I am a SSHRC-funded Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Social Work at Carleton University, as well as a Part-Time Professor in the School of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa.
I completed my CIHR-funded PhD in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa under the supervision of Dr. Audrey Giles.
In addition to research, I am passionate about volunteering and working in the community, including with the Social Planning Council of Ottawa, the Council on Aging of Ottawa, the United Way East Ontario’s Successful Aging Strategic Council, the Odawa Native Friendship Centre, and The Ottawa Hospital. The relationships that I have built in the community are what motivate me as I move forward with my program of research.”
