On September 30, 2017, University of Ottawa medical students will be hosting the 6th annual Action Global Health Network Conference (AGHN) in Roger Guindon (451 Smyth Road). The AGHN conference is supported by the Aesculapian Society- an association representing medical students at the University of Ottawa, and the former Office of Global Health. The AGHN Conference is dedicated to raising awareness and disseminating knowledge about local and global health issues through stimulating conversation with diverse and thought-provoking keynote speakers and workshops.
This year we are again hosting a research symposium, which aims to provide an opportunity for innovative students (undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral) to present their work. Abstracts surrounding the following themes will be considered:
- Social science
- Global health
- Public health
- Health-services
- Health policy
- Anthropology
All students who feel they have knowledge and experience to share are invited to apply. It is an excellent opportunity to showcase your study, network with peers and researchers, and win a prize for the best poster!
The early bird deadline for submitting your application is July 12, 2017 by 11:59 PM EST. To submit an abstract for consideration, please email a brief cover letter as well as an abstract of 250-word max to aghn2017.research@gmail.com.

Le 30 septembre 2017, les étudiants en médecine de l’Université d’Ottawa vous présenteront la 6e Conférence annuelle du Réseau santé mondiale action (AGHN) au Pavillon Roger-Guindon (451 rue Smyth). La conférence AGHN est supportée par la Société d’Esculape, l’association étudiante de la Faculté de médecine à l’Université d’Ottawa, et l’ancien Bureau de la santé mondiale. La conférence AGHN est destinée à la promotion et à la diffusion de connaissances au sujet de la santé mondiale au niveau local et international par l’entremise de nombreuses discussions stimulantes grâce aux intervenants principaux et aux ateliers qui y seront organisés.
Cette année, nous organisons un symposium de recherche, qui veut permettre aux étudiants innovateurs (de premier cycle, d’études supérieures et postdoctorales) de présenter leurs travaux de recherche. Les résumés qui portent sur les thèmes suivants seront considérés:
- Sciences sociales
- Santé mondiale
- Santé publique
- Services de santé
- Politiques de sant
- Anthropologie
Tous les étudiants se croyant suffisamment habiles dans leur domaine ou ayant une expertise à partager sont invités à poser leur candidature. Il s’agit d’une excellente occasion de présenter vos projets de recherche, de faire du réseautage avec vos pairs et avec d’autres chercheurs, et de tenter de gagner un prix pour la meilleure affiche!
La date limite pour poser votre candidature est le 12 juillet 2017, à 23 h 59 (ET). Pour soumettre votre résumé, s’il vous plaît, veuillez envoyer une courte lettre de motivation, ainsi qu’un résumé de 250 mots (max) au courriel aghn2017.research@gmail.com.
