Interested in having your child participate in one of our child memory studies?

What does participating in a study involve?
Most studies involve children (and sometimes parents) watching a short videoclip or presentation on “Street Safety”or “Camping Carefulness”, for example. Then children take a short break and do activities like puzzles, crafts, watch cartoons, etc. After break, children describe everything they can remember about the videoclip or presentation. We also may show children photos to see if they can remember who was in the video or presentation.

How long does participation take?
A session can last between 30-60 minutes. If it is going to be any longer we tell you before we schedule your session.

When and where does participation take place?
We arrange a mutually convenient time for you and your child to come to our laboratory which is located on the campus of Carleton University (main entrance at Sunnyside and Bronson).

How old must the children be to participate?
Our studies are usually for children between 4- to 14-years. Younger and older siblings are welcome to come along as we have a playroom/lounge. Parents also may participate with their child in some studies.
