The Institute of Cognitive Science at Carleton University is interested in sponsoring an individual for a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship.  The general requirements for the competition are at: https://carleton.ca/curo/2015/funding-opp-banting-postdoctoral-fellowships-program/

We are most interested in candidates who have expertise in empirical cognitive science, including the use of brain imaging techniques such as ERP to study cognitive processes such as learning, reasoning, or problem solving.

Applications will be subject to an internal adjudication process before any application is forwarded.

  • Deadline for initial expressions of interest is May 28th (see final paragraph below).
  • Deadline for the internal submission process (by invitation only) is June 17th.
  • Deadline for the full application to the sponsor (by invitation only) is Sept 23rd.

Eligibility.  Applicants to the 2015–16 Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program must fulfill or have fulfilled all degree requirements for a PhD between September 23, 2012 and August 15, 2016 (inclusively), and before the start date of their award.  Note: although recent PhD graduates are eligible to apply, due to the competitive nature of the program, preference is given to candidates who have already held a postdoctoral fellowship.

Initial expressions of interest, including a CV, a statement of eligibility (see above), and a brief description of research interests, including which faculty member in the Institute of Cognitive Science the applicant would be most interested in working with, should be sent to
jo-anne.lefevre@carleton.ca (Director of the Institute).

Information about specific research programs of the faculty members can be found on the website:  www.carleton.ca/ics
