I’m currently a research assistant for the Sharon Thompson-Schill Lab at the University of Pennsylvania. At Carleton, I completed my master’s thesis under the supervision of Dr. Kumiko Murasugi. My work examined how foreign language learners of Chinese with different levels of proficiency visually decomposed certain types of Chinese characters, and whether their strategies would shift based on lexical familiarity.
