Students, faculty and staff are advised that at approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, the university experienced a severe network failure that impacted some Internet access and some internal network services.
Internal services were restored at approximately 6 p.m. but recurring failures continue to impact Internet access into Sunday.
Internet service has been partially restored but the network is still operating in a degraded mode. Some Internet access should be expected to be slow until further notice.
During this period of degraded service, users are requested to refrain from using bandwidth-intensive applications such as YouTube or other forms of streaming video and to limit Skype access to voice calls only.
Work towards a resolution of the technical problems continues. CCS is continuing to work with our external service vendors to resolve the technical problems. A status update will be provided on an as-needed basis.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
