Jim is a senior program and project manager that has provided management consulting services to numerous government and private sector clients for over 30 years. He has successfully implemented over 20 diverse IM/IT projects/programs that range from secure telecommunications systems, IT infrastructure, real time systems, IT project management offices and others. He has worked for a number of federal government departments, provincial government ministries, Scientific Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Software Kinetics Limited and other clients. He has been an instructor in software engineering and project and program management both full-time and part-time for over 25 years. His clients have included Department of National Defence (DND), numerous private and public sector clients and 12 different universities and colleges. He has won two “Best Instructor” awards, one from York University and one from the Royal Canadian Navy. The courses he has taught over these 25 years include PMP Exam Preparation, Project Management Essentials, Project Management for Government, MS Project (basic and advanced), Masters Certificate in Project Management, Masters Certificate in Business Analysis, Risk Management, Managing Complex Projects, Leadership, Introductory Programming, Software Engineering, Software Project Management and Development Methodologies; ADA, CMS-2M, and Ultra-16 Assembly languages; and Software Design and Modelling. Jim has been teaching the PMP Exam Preparation Course at Carleton University for proximally 18 years and the Excellence in Project Management course and its predecessor for approximately 15 years. Jim holds an under-graduate degree in Information Technology, a graduate degree (Masters) in Project Management and was a PhD candidate in Organizational Management. He has had his Project Management Professional designation (PMP) from PMI for over 20 years and is also a PMI (ATP) certified instructor. He also has certifications in ITIL and CMII.
