Kathy Harvey is Associate Dean for MBA and Executive Degrees at Saïd Business School, Oxford University. She is responsible for the success of the school’s flagship postgraduate qualifications, and a founding member of the School’s executive coaching community, working with senior executives. Kathy believes in the transformative power of coaching and has been working for over 20 years with leaders at transitional points in their careers, helping them to draw on their strengths to achieve their potential and the potential of their teams and organisations. She began her career in journalism, working as a correspondent with the BBC before founding her own communication consulting firm and then moving into academia. She has built Oxford-Said’s portfolio of executive qualifications and teaches entrepreneurship and stakeholder management. As the Director for the Executive MBA, she introduced leadership coaching for all participants. As a coach, Kathy is accredited with the UK based Association of Coaching, and with the Gallup StrengthsFinder coaching programme. She read English Literature at undergraduate level and journalism at postgraduate level. She continues to maintain her interest in writers and writing, as a trustee of the Orwell Foundation, which celebrates the work of George Orwell and works to uncover untold stories.
