Research Interests

Jessica’s main research interests center on exploring motivation and personality in the workplace environment.  More specifically, she is interested in examining perfectionism and goal pursuit in the workplace to better understand how goal progress for work-related goals could be improved among employees.

In addition, Jessica would like to explore the mechanisms influencing various work-related outcomes by adopting a Self-Determination Theory perspective. She is interested in answering questions related to work motivation, such as: can the relation between perfectionism and work outcomes be explained by an employee’s level of work motivation? For instance, if an employee is a perfectionist, and depending on whether they are a self-critical or personal standards perfectionist, what relation might that have with burnout symptoms, workaholism, job satisfaction, and well-being? And can these associations be explained by whether employees feel autonomous or controlled at work?
