2024 President’s Golf Tournament raises $95,000.00!!
Carleton University held its 17th annual President’s Golf Tournament on Monday, August 19, 2024. Thanks to the tremendous support of 36 corporate sponsors and supporters, the 2024 tournament raised $95,000.00 in net proceeds. These funds directly benefit Carleton’s student experience and excellence by supporting scholarships for student athletes, supporting varsity teams and providing funding for the Ravens Fund endowment to support future athletes. Launched in 2006, the cumulative tournament proceeds from 2006-2024 are now $2,389,000.00!
With golf played at the Hylands Golf Club, we were pleased to welcome 100 golfers, representing the university’s vendors and suppliers who sponsored the tournament, and a dozen student athlete volunteers to the 2024 tournament. After a great day of golf, networking and first-class hospitality, attendees were invited back to the Ravens’ Nest for a celebratory reception and dinner hosted by Carleton’s Interim President, Dr. Jerry Tomberlin. The crowd of 130 dinner attendees, which included all golfers, sponsors, student athletes and coaches, were welcomed by the dinner master of ceremonies Adam Stanley, BJ 2010, Golf Reporter, Sportsnet and Carleton journalism grad. The speaking program featured remarks from Interim President Tomberlin, student athlete testimonials by Jacqueline Urban (Ravens Womens Basketball) and Andrew Hunt (Ravens Mens Hockey), and incoming Tournament Chair Yolana Junco, AVP Recreation and Athletics.
The success of this event is not possible without the generous and steadfast support of Carleton’s vendors, suppliers, corporate partners and donors who sponsor and participate in the tournament. This annual corporate fundraising tournament is a great opportunity for the university and its corporate partners to network with other business and university leaders while providing significant support to Carleton student athletes through tournament sponsorships. Since it’s launch in 2006, the President’s Golf Tournament has raised a cumulative total of $2,389,000.00 for student-athlete bursaries, varsity team programs, and the Ravens Fund Endowment in support of our future Ravens athletes. The direct impact of the funds raised from the tournament is evident in the athletic and academic achievements of our student athletes, and will help to inspire the next generation of talented, equitable and inclusive leaders to achieve academic and sporting excellence.
