Dr. Ngila is Head of Department of Applied Chemistry at the University of Johannesburg, Doornfontein Campus. She worked as a tutorial fellow /Lecturer at KU (1989-1997); University of Botswana as a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer (1998-2006); University of KwaZulu Natal as Senior Lecturer (2006-2011); University of Johannesburg (UJ) as Professor of Chemistry in April 2011. She has taught various courses in Analytical/Environmental chemistry and research in water quality monitoring and treatment using nanocomposite membranes; modelling mass balance in wastewater treatment plants. She has published more than 100 journal articles and graduated more than 50 postgraduate students.
