Majid Hamidi Iravani is a Ph.D. candidate at Carleton University. With a strong academic background and a passion for software development in the realms of structural analysis, fire engineering, and Building Information Modeling (BIM), he has made significant contributions to the field.
Majid holds a Master’s degree in seismic engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, showcasing his expertise in structural dynamics and earthquake-resistant design. Over the course of more than a decade, he has honed his software development skills, specializing in C# and C++, and has developed numerous plugins for Autodesk and CSI products, including Revit, AutoCAD, Advance Steel and ETABS. His software solutions have enhanced efficiency and precision in the design and analysis of structural systems.
His current research focus is on developing innovative methods and software for hybrid fire testing of structures and developing a fire analysis software package based on OpenSees for Fire analysis engine, contributing to the advancement of performance-based fire design. Through his commitment to excellence and a strong foundation in both engineering and software development, Majid continues to be a driving force in the evolution of structural engineering and fire safety practices.
