The Dhahan Lecture encourages dialogue between Indo-Canadian communities. Since its launch in 2012, Carleton has been pleased to host numerous esteemed keynote speakers, including statesmen, researchers, educationalists, and creative artists.
The Lecture is named in honour of the parents of Barj S. Dhahan, a founding donor and Board Member of the Canada-India Centre for Excellence.
Since immigrating to Canada in 1960, Budh Singh and Kashmir Kaur have shown that access to quality education and health care are the basic building blocks of prosperity. Their devotion to knowledge sharing on the global stage has gained widespread support and bilateral policy focus from the Canadian and Indian governments. Together, they built a legacy of community leadership and social responsibility.
