Ojibway
Aurora Ominika-Enosse is a first-year undergraduate student at Carleton’s School of Social Work, who is doing a minor in Indigenous Studies. Ominika-Enosse is Ojibway, originally from Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory in Ontario.
Ominika-Enosse is the former 2017 – 2018 Miss Wiikwemkoong. Through this role, she has been able to learn and connect with people across Turtle Island. She is involved in activities on and off campus. Ominika-Enosse is currently helping as an Indigenous delegate with the Reconciliation campaign as well as participating in the upcoming Daughters of the Vote program held in Ottawa.
“I am excited to be a part of this committee and I am excited to see the work that we will do,” says Ominika-Enosse. “I feel as though it is important that Indigenous students are heard and have a voice here on campus at Carleton. As a first-year student, I am very excited to be able to participate in this – hopefully I can encourage upcoming, and other first-year students, to become more involved.”
