Benny Michaud

Benny Michaud is a proud two-spirit eagle clan Michif person. An alumnus of Carleton University, she joined the Centre for Indigenous Initiatives team in October 2016. Benny is the Director of the Centre for Indigenous Initiatives. Prior to this appointment, she was the Assistant Director of Equity and Inclusive Communities (Responsible for the Centre for Indigenous Initiatives).

Over the course of her career, she has worked diligently to support the needs of Indigenous youth in both the mental health and education sectors. At Carleton, she is committed to ensuring Indigenous students have the academic, cultural and spiritual supports necessary for health and well-being in the future.

Originally from Winnipeg, her family’s traditional territory extends from St. Boniface to Qu’Appelle Valley, Sask.
