Gavin Woodburn
Kwiakah First Nations
Gavin Woodburn is Kwiakah First Nations from Campbell River, B.C. He was raised in Ontario with strong ties to his family on the West Coast. He is currently in his second year at Carleton, enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in astrophysics.
Woodburn is actively involved on and off campus. He sits as co-chair of the Reconciliation campaign, as well as co-chair of the First Peoples Council – both at Carleton. In these roles, he hopes to be able to help give Indigenous students a more welcoming and comfortable experience at Carleton.
“My aspiration with this committee is to be able to give Indigenous students at Carleton a voice to share their concerns, as well as ideas so that we can all benefit through our journeys in post-secondary.”
