Join us at Author Meets Readers to discuss the legitimacy of regional pacts like the EU, NAFTA, and the MERCOSUR/UNASUR through the eyes of the people.
Led by Jean Monnet Chair, Achim Hurrelmann, an academic and community panel will discuss the findings in Professor Hurrelmann’s recent book, The Legitimacy of Regional Integration in Europe and the Americas. The book asks: How legitimate are such regional organizations and governance processes in the eyes of the population? Do they enjoy popular support, why or why not, and how has this support changed over time?
